Laureldale in Berks County PA
Laureldale is a borough in Berks County, Pennsylvania. It is located in the eastern part of the state, just over an hour's drive away from Philadelphia. According to the United States Census Bureau, as of 2000 Laureldale has a population of 3,397. The borough has a total area of 0.8 square miles all of it land. The racial demographics of Laureldale are 95.90% White, 0.74% African American, 0.05% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 2.02% from other races, and 0.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.43% of the population. Laureldale has over 1,600 households with the median income for a household in the borough $42,951, and the median income for a family $48,846. Berks County is surrounded by six counties in southeastern Pennsylvania. The county has more than 370,000 residents living in an area of 866 square miles. Berks County is home to dozens of townships and boroughs. It is also home to Reading, the county seat and the fifth largest city in Pennsylvania. The county makes up the greater Reading Area.

Berks County is home to the two Pennsylvania State Parks of Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center and French Creek State Park. Berks County is home to the Reading Regional Airport, a public airport located just outside the central district of Reading. To meet cultural interests, Berks County is home to the Reading Public Museum.
